i hadnt noticed until you brought it to my attention, i have been as faithful to ourstory as i have been in the past, been really busy and i am far behind on keeping up with writing and reading..

but i just checked the email account i have all my notifacions sent to, and i have not recieved anything since nov 13th so you are not alone... i am having the same issue... so what do we do..

thanks for being our voice when we have issues here, we all really appreciate it.

awwwww, thanks thom...i didnt believe (ok, it crossed my mind and i wondered WHAT i could have one to be shunned by EVERYONE..lol) that anyone would dismiss me...

ill write support, and daniel hardman as well....he may not even know about this.

he has a skeleton crew running the site now...hes had too let allot of ppl go because of the economy....

so, im not sure when hed reply back, or even get to the issue.

i love you too thom! and i appreciate you beyond words, you have NO idea!
i work hard (without pay) for all my 'family' here on OS so we can have a great site and tell each other and the world about our adventures, thoughts, ideas, dreams, goals, victories, and lessons of life learned...

its a pleasure too try work it out, i dont do it for myself...i do it for all of you!

i could sit back and do my own thing, and never think about any of you and the same issue happening...but i care.
so, i inquire.
a voice back in either direction tells me what direction to head myself in too make sure you and i and you and everyone else and even the ppl im not connected too on here, have a concise and fluid experience to always want to come back to and use.

updat: sent notice to dan the man...its his birthday today...what a way to say happy birthday huh? lol

i used a bit more tact than that, but i sent him notice...like i said, not sure WHEN hed get to it....

well know its fixed, i guess when we se the influx of emails pour into our email accounts..lol

im not sure WHAT the 'something unexpected has happened" is all about, i have had that happen since i joined this site.

i think has too do with transfer rate from my request on my end to the server on OS's end...kinda like when you go to a page, and it pops up the face "unable to retrieve page, request times out". i dont think its anything more than a tranfer issue between net services and servers on that one, but im not sure.

the email one tho, has concerned me. im missing posts by you all i have no idea your posting...because im not getting the notices in my personal email. and im not getting notices on comments either.

i check my email frequently, and actually USE the fact i got notices about new posts and comments to go read about your stories (everyones). as well as comment.

place may seem like a ghost town, because the ONLY communication we have with each other right now is...mosiac. and that only shows comments made on anyones threads.

*sigh*

I get the "Something Unexpected has happened" thing more frequently now too.

prolly server overload...everyones jamming the servers up.

wont change unless theres bigger servers supporting the requests too add pics, or post blogs, or even add comments.

i can only speculate.

of course my issue with it COULD be the fact i get 3 megs OUT with my internet, instead of the 11 im promised by the company...weve called they say we should get 11 FROM THIER END , anyway...were not getting it on our end...

so, that means our transfer rate (up and down) isnt very good, its good, but not the best...
add to that, 5 other Pcs, an xbox, and a few hand held devices that ALSO use the wifi in my house and the rate of transfer drops dramatically...

all of that COULD be a factor in my issue with the "something unexpected happened" thing.

I get the "Something unexpected has happened" quite a bit too - I just always keep my fingers crossed when i post something, because sometimes it kicks me out and I have to start over! So now I'm writing it on Word, then transferring it onto here, so I don't lose it. But the personal picture transfer is a problem.

I have been getting messages, though, Michelle - from you, Thom, Dana, Jenaka and Ronelle, which I think are the onlyones on my list posting lately. However, I don't check as often as I wish, because I'm too busy, so if there was a gap, I didn't notice.

I am getting the posts from everyone in my e mails...but still get the "something unexpected happened"....

I get a report from OS's mail system once an hour, telling me what it's doing. The reports have come in regularly and show a steady stream of outgoing messages, so whatever the problem is, it isn't as simple as email simply being lost or ignored."

im not really sure what that means, i know, im getting NOTHING on my end to do with OS...but the system says it porting it out...so, it might be on MY end (*rolls eyes* thinks: 'naturally'..lol)
but i have NOTHING in spam, junk or inbox..and if i was getting anything it be in one of the three (youd think)..i dunno.*sigh*

ok, hubby says he hasnt gotten any emails from me since the 13th of this month...and he gets mail from every account i have on here if i do a post to it.

so, SOMETHINGS going on...

I found one problem with the system that was caused by the hackers trying to flood the system with ads a few weeks back. Basically they left behind a lot of garbage in the email system that was only partially cleaned out.

I've cleared up the issue that I found, and the system logs look to me like they're working normally. Please tell me what you're seeing now.
