Monday · 10/31/2009 This is a public story

Well today I spent at my parents. I went over there while my mom got her hair done so my dad wouldn't be alone. The physical therapist came today and did some major paperwork for our HMO and Medicare. She also mentioned the fact that my dad is in so much pain indicates that he has had the cancer for awhile. Tomorrow is blood work and Thursday is pallative medicine/oncologist/IV drip. We will be at the hospital at least four hours on Thursday. This time I'm bringing something to stay entertained. I know my dad is taking his cd player. For Christmas my mom is getting him an iPod and I'm going to load it with all of his favourite cds. So much easier to carry around.I paid two major bills today and consolidated my student loan. They seemed to think I could pay half my salary a month, yea right! I'm dragging that puppy out as long as I can. Especially because I am losing my Apple award. I will no longer be in a Title 1 or a special education class and I need to be one or the other for that repayment. At this point it doesn't matter. Aside from the fact I can't wait to be in regular ed, I owe so much now...what's another $11,000?!I finally caught up on all of my penpal letters over the weekend. I let months go by when I get busy before I respond. I really want to be better about that.A friend brought over turkey pot pie and a ham over the weekend. We had the ham yesterday and it was so good. Today we had the pot pie for lunch. OMG she can cook! I want to learn how to make the pot pie seeing as Nick loves making turkey. It doesn't look too hard. Tonight Nick made fried cauliflower so I've had more than my share of home-cooking for a week :) I'm reading a bunch of Christmas novella-type books. I loved The Christmas Jars. It's by Jason Wright and along the lines of the Christmas Box. Great story. It's been added to my must read every year list. The other two on that list are the Nativity Story by Angela Hunt and "Twas the Night Before by Jerry B. Jenkins. The second is a great Santa Claus story.
