CENSUS APPLICATION & TESTING · 4/23/2009
craig and i both went for the census testing and application. but, there was still a bit of hesitation, as 10 years have passed since i did it, and the world, back then was just coming into the internet really good, and in 10 years weve gone from actual face-to-face meetings, to almost everyhting online...that would mean, the census taking would also have changed...so some degree anyway. we got there on time, walked in, took 2 seats, and were handed an application, and another form too fill out. the instructor commented that theres always one person in the room whos a speed demon, and finishes 1st, i shot a quick look at craig, figuring hed be the early bird. test was 28 questions long. and 30 minutes. i finished forst. had too sit there quietly for 10 minutes while everyone else finished. all the tests were taken up...1st person made a 100% she got all the questions right... eventually, craig went up, he did a 93%. well, i knew that meant id have had too have made a bit lower..maybe even ALLOT lower... my name was called, the instructor asked me who i thought made the higher grade..i naturally assumed it was going too be craig...but... i made a 95% !!!! the entire class passed...all eleven of us! theres no guarantee well be called for this job...just because you pass doesnt guarantee employment, your just in the running for your area if you did pass. im not even sure if this is for the rehearsal for 2009, or the actual census work in 2010. at anyrate, i passed. lol not sure what the pay rate is now that its 10 years later, back in 1999, it was 10.50/hr. im sure thats been raised. MICHELLE
