Born: 1775 North Carolina, USA
Death:Feb. 25, 1815 New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, USA

Died either at New Orleans, or back home in Tennessee as a result of wounds received at the Battle of New Orleans on Jan,8th 1815. Burial location unkown, but probably in New Orleans.

"The following is found page 178 of the book entitled War of the 1812
Soldiers of Maury County Tennessee (lib number 976.859 M2G) "David Sanders, service not determined . died at N. Orleans under Maj. General Carroll Division in the service of the United States against the Tories of Great Britain"

Eldon Hurst quotes from the March 1815 minutes of the Rock Creek Church in Bedford County Tennessee that "Brothers Michael Sholfer and David Sanders died at N. Orleans and states that Moses Martin Sanders gave his father's death date of January 11. 1815 ,whereas the "National Archives states his death as 25 Jan ,1815. Not sure if the 25 Jan is a misprint and Feb 25 is intended: The Feb date would be closer to the three months and fifteen days that David was paid for his service . conclusion he did not die at the Battle of New Orleans but after the battle was over , possibly from wounds or an infection.

David Sanders died intestate and in April 1815 a Bedford Co Tenn issued
letters of administration to Mary Sanders and James Allred. David's son
(David James Sanders) was born posthumously June 14,1815".
